1. Turn off your washing machine and disconnect it.

It is crucial that your machine is disconnected before locating and removing the filter. If your machine has one, move all buttons to a neutral position or press the 'off' button.

  • Turn the power off and disconnect your washer from the wall socket.
  • Ensure the plug is kept dry during the cleaning process.
  • Place old clothes or towels in front of your washer to catch any water that may leak after removing the filter.

2. Find your Purifit washing machine filter.

For front-loading machines, the filter is usually on the outside corner of the washer. The Purifit filter uses refined polyphosphate crystals to increase efficiency by reducing empty spaces in the cartridge.

3. Clean the Silicon Ring with Steel Mesh!

If your washing machine has a Purifit filter with a silicone ring and steel mesh — these parts prevent dust or crystal particles from entering the machine. The stainless-steel mesh does not rust.

  • Gently remove the first layer of the filter.
  • Remove the blue-colored ring and clean it properly. Also check inside the transparent part for mild dirt particles.
  • If water flow decreases, it may be due to dust/crystal particles stuck here. Remove and clean the silicon ring thoroughly.
  • Cleaning this part completes about 95% of the cleaning process.
